The idea of Kali Simmons illustrates that kinship is not simply shorthand for family or peers; it is an entire system that structures how one moves through the world(Simmons, 2019). She reinforced to me the absolute intimacy and the integration of the indigenous people towards biological assemblages and land. I am deeply moved by the belief in indigenous lives that merge with and remain connected to nature. I made three headpieces using natural materials such as feathers, fur, branches, and linen. They speak to the other forms of life that exist outside the Anthropocene purview.
